Welcome.  Here you will learn about the Brocks Hill Visitor Centre and Country Park, the opening times, what we have for you to enjoy and a little of the history of the building and surrounding country park.

Brocks Hill Visitor Centre and Country Park

 

 entrance showing wooden statue of an owl and a badger The unusual design of the visitor center| offers practical solutions to environmental problems as well as demonstrating ideas in new technology such as solar water heating.  It houses an exhibition, a cafe, a shop, toilets and also a meeting room which is available for hire.

 Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays  10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 Weekdays

 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 Country Park and Play Area  
 These are accessible at all times  

 

 

The country park| extends for 30 hectares (67 acres) where native trees have been planted. Wildflower meadows, an orchard, a play area and ponds have been created and wheelchair and pram friendly paths have been laid around the Park.

The centre and park were opened in April 2001.  The project received £939,000 funding from the Millennium Commission and match funding from various partners including De Montfort University and Leicestershire County Council.  This green wedge between Oadby and Wigston has now been protected from housing development!
