|
The country park| extends for 30 hectares (67 acres) where native trees have been planted. Wild flower meadows, ponds and an orchard have been created and wheelchair and pram friendly paths have been laid around the Park. The newly installed play area| has been funded by the Big Lottery Fund and boasts a range of play equipment and landscaping to encourage 'natural' play. There is also a separate play area for children aged under 8 years.
Our regular newsletter includes our programme of events| for all ages. Please contact us to be put onto our mailing list.
The centre and park were opened in April 2001. The project received £939,000 funding from the Millennium Commission and match funding from various partners including De Montfort University and Leicestershire County Council.
