Introduction

We have now made it even easier for you to pay your council tax and business rates by direct debit, it only takes a phone call to set up your bank details. The council tax and business rates information leaflet contains information on direct debit payments, as well as the following :-

  2. An explanation of council tax, including who pays council tax and what the money is used for.
  3. Information on the council tax valuation bands.
  4. Details for residents who may be eligable for council tax discounts or reductions.
  5. Advice on how to appeal against decisions made regarding your council tax payments.
  6. Information for residents who may qualify for housing and council tax benefit.
  7. Details of our customer care plus scheme, which is available for those aged over 65 and for those of any age with a physical or mental disability.
  8. Advice on how and where to pay your council tax and business rates bill.
  9. Our budget details for the 2005 to 2006 and 2006 to 2007 financial year.
  10. Expenditure information for the 2005 to 2006 and 2006 to 2007 financial year.
  11. An application form, which will enable you to request to pay your council tax and business rates bill by direct debit.
